Laser Technology

Laser hardener, type LHS

Our LHS laser hardeners have been developed to harden steel parts and tools such as pliers in large numbers with high precision. The stressed parts of a tool can be precisely machined while the rest of the material remains unaffected.

The LHS hardening system is based on two diode lasers, whose laser heads are arranged on a four-axis system and can work independently of each other. This results in far higher throughput rates than conventional hardening systems. An optical system recognizes the contour of the clamped workpiece and calculates the optimized route for the lasers. Other parameters can be set separately for individual workpiece types. A constant temperature control takes place during the hardening process.

Laser Trimming System for SMD Inductors, Type LWS

SMD inductors of size 0603 can be manufactured by laser cutting technology from our LWS cutting system.

When laser balancing our LWS system, a high-precision laser pulse cuts a spiral into the rotating blank, a copper-coated ceramic body. In this way, inductances in the range from 1.5NH to 220NH can be cut and cutting widths of less than 20µm are realized. A double-head laser system increases the efficiency of production, so that production rates of 24,000 pcs/h are achieved depending on the desired inductance. A camera system allows easy monitoring and adjustment of the cutting positions.

Laser Trimming System for Resistors, Type LSS

MELF, Minimelf and MicroMelf resistors can be manufactured with our LSS Laser Trimming System.

A vacuum needle places the blanks, they are rotated, laser cut and sorted in output boxes. A camera system can be used to monitor production and adjust the settings. Different patterns achieve results from 0.1Ω to 10MΩ.
